Sony gets Audio rights for Dasavatharam


Being one of the most committed in the audio market, Sony BMG extends its next step into Kodambakkam acquiring the audio rights of Dasavatharam, one of the most expected blockbuster biggies of 2008.

Talks between Sony BMG and producer V. Ravichandran of Oscar Films Pvt. Ltd were held over for a long time and things were finalized today. Dasavtharam starring Kamal Haasan in 10 different roles will hit the screen on April 14, 2008, while audio for the film will be released during second week of March.

Speaking about the film's release, producer Ravichandran says, "The film will be simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi". Also added the publicity works and number of prints are being worked out.


More elated about stepping into Tamil Film industry, Shridhar Subramaniam, Managing Director, SONY BMG India utters that it's a great feather added to their caps now for they have mingled with one of the finest projects in the history of Tamil cinema. It is a great beginning for Sony BMG and Shridhar further continues that main concern of Sony BMG will of redefining a new and different scenario in this region.

As known earlier, the film has Asin, Jayapradha, Mallika Sherawat in lead roles and Himesh Reshammiya has tuned melodies for this flick.

Apart from spinning great successful albums in the international standard, Sony BMG has been sensing triumph in the audio market joining hands with Mani Ratnam (Guru), UTV (Rang De Basanti), Dharma productions (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Kabhie Khushie Kabhi Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho), Aamir Khan Productions (Lagaan), A R Rahman's (Vande Mataram), Kailash Kher's (Kailasa), Jagjit Singh'Gulzar's (Marasim & Koi Baat Chale) and the Indian Idol and Fame Gurukul series among many.
