Bollywood’s most eligible bachelor Salman Khan is all set to tie the knot in October, this year.




According to the sources, bollywood’s spoilt boy Sallu has finally decided to give up his bachelor status and settle down. It is said that the actor has given in to the demands of his parents, who want their son to marry and start a family as soon as possible.



Salman who has been seeing British born Indian Actress Katrina Kaif for nearly three years now, seems to have found his soul mate in her. After having had a string of affairs with famous models and actresses which include Aishwarya Rai, and Sangeeta Bijlani, its Katrina who got the star thinking of the Final Commitment.



Though the actress who stood by his side during his short lived jail term in the Blackbug case has openly said that she has no plans for marriage in the near future at least for 5 years, sallu’s decision to settle down might cause her to have second thoughts on the subject.



It is said that Katrina is miffed with salman , as the latter is pestering the former for marrying and that is the reasons ,for the latest rift between Katrina and Salman.




To surprise all ,Katrina was seen dating and partying with Ranbir kapoor very recently ,which also hints that she is completely vexed up with sallu’s proposals to marry and is in a look out for another Boyfriend.



There is a buzz in the bollywood that Katrina is now a settled actress and so she does not need any kind of support from anyone.

Priyanka chopra has denied that she has any king of personnel or professional differences with Kangana Ranaut who Co-Stars with her in Madhur bhandarkar’s forthcoming film titled Fashion.

Next, Shanker approached Aishwarya Bachchan for the role, but there is mo confirmation whether the actress has signed for the film, but shanker claims that Ash has given the nod and has signed the agreement. But when questioned ash the same, she replies that it is still under consideration.




Sources close to Aishwarya say that it is due to the tight movie schedule which is keeping her at bay, as her Jodha Akbar is releasing in the coming month and her next international project Pink Panther-2 will be starting soon. After that her next project Sarkar Raj will, star its schedule.




Now, what is worth mentioning is that perhaps the success of Om Shanti Om has gone into the head of Deepika, who has let go an opportunity to work in a big budget film opposite South super star Rajnikanth only for the sake of money. This move may prove to be costly for Deepika and she may not even get the opportunity to make amends. For bollywood does not offer time to make amends.

Shahrukh and Hrithik back together again after Khabi Kushi...

Taking a cue from the flops produced under his banner during 2007, Ace producer Aditya Chopra has now pulled out all stops and is reported to be rolling up his sleeves to direct his own film starring two Bollywood superstars Shahrukh and Hrithik in the lead roles. And Rani Mukerji and Preity zinta, both favorites of Adi are expected to be part of the project which will be shot in Greece, Australia, and Dubai.



Contrary to the genre of romantic films produced by Aditya’s banner, the new project will have more action and humor. According to the sources, both SRK and Hrithik have plenty of free dates of their calendar as do Rani and Preity for Adi.




Aditya is currently reading the final draft of the film and hopes to start Pre-Production work in March so that shooting can commence by June –July.




Last year, other than Chak De! India, all the other films from Aditya Chopra’s productions flopped at the box office. The string of flops include Ta Ra Rum Pum, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, laaga Chunari Mein daag and Aaja Nachle . Even the faces of the big stars could not save these films which include Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Madhuri dixit.



In the past, Aditya Directed two films DDLJ in 1995, and Mo0habatein in 2000 which were a run away hits. Now by directing his next movie with the two big stars he wants the magic to be repeated.



Let’s hope that his film gets into a good shape and is going to be successful after its release.

On August 21, BMW confirmed its driver line-up of Heidfeld and Kubica for the 2008 season. Their 2008 car, the F1.08 was officially launched in Munich at BMW Welt on January 14th, 2008. It made its track debut at Valencia the next day, with Robert Kubica driving.

Early 2008 Testing

In testing the F1.08 the BMW Sauber team had a three day exclusive test at the Valencia circuit in Spain, Nick Heidfield had the duty of testing the F1.08 whilst team mate Kubica took the F1.07B out on their exclusive test. However when the team returned to the same circuit to test the F1.08 on 23 January, the car was shown to be slow, in comparison to the team's pace the previous season, starting rumors that the car is slow, but technial director Willy Rampf has played down the rumors, Willy Rampf has confirmed that the car will be running in a revised form at the Barcelona test on 1 to 3 Febuary 2008.

Will India rely on the big Three once more if they fail in ODI's

The Indian Selectors now has an intention of having an young side for the shorter format of the game. This is the idea behind dropping Dada and Dravid out of the ODI squad. Will the selectors follow the same stratergy from now for the ODI's by not backing the senior cricketers and relying on these young foots or would they again fall on the feets of the seniors (alone playing well in OZ) for the rescue of the team when these young foots do not do well. One ball jagged in and had Ponting fending; another, that perfect ball which is every right-arm bowler's dream, came in with arm and left Ponting as he shaped to defend, missing the edge by a whisker. And then one came in to trap Ponting in front; it was a decision the umpire wouldn't have been roasted for had he given it to the bowler, but only a doubt about the height will have saved Ponting.



Many would have been excused for thinking that the moment had passed, for an exceptional over such as that would be hard to reproduce, certainly by a bowler of his experience. I don't usually care much about celebrity news- still don't, really. I don't write about it, either. I was looking over my google homepage news today though, and I couldn't help myself. A few months ago I watched that over-the-top YouTube video with the teenager's melodramatic soliloquy about leaving Britney Spears alone- it was funny and a little frightening, but I have to agree. The media needs to quit invading her privacy- she has the same kind of problems thousands of people in the U.S. have, only to be exacerbated by all the media attention clocking her every move. There are a lot more important things going on in the world, people! So, I say it, too. Leave Britney alone! This all is getting very old and very lame.



In other thoughts, after some observation of ..others.. here's my personal goal for the upcoming year (I resist calling it a new year's resolution.... but okay, fine, it is): When going above and beyond is unnecessary and I'm overwhelmed by too much to do, I will resist being a perfectionist and just cut some things out. I'm not God, I'm not some kind of Superman, I'm just me. Overdoing it to prove to who(??) that I'm enough will only make me bitter and unhappy and tired. That is not the kind of life we're called to live.

Barriers break when money talks

The news of a corporate bigwig like Bharti getting involved with Indian football is pure music to the ears of people associated with the game. It’s a more than welcome initiative on the part of AIFF as well as the company. But the road ahead is a tricky one and needs to be treaded extremely carefully.



As an official of AIFF commented, “It sounds all good on paper but unless it yields something, it would just be another flash in the pan.”



Efforts to popularise football have moved from first to third gear, for quite some time now. Money is slowly and steadily pouring in and the results are showing. While Bharti is starting from the grassroots level, which is extremely essential, a lot of others have just tagged along and not given too much to the game. The academy being planned by Bharti is a step in the right direction but it will not work if other things required aren’t put in place. “What would the academy yield if there aren’t professional coaches?” questions a coach of a football club.



AIFF claims that it would bring in foreign coaches and train young kids the right way, or rather the European way, which would have facilities including multiple grounds, basic training, coaching and medical facilities.



Nirvan Shah, who runs his own football academy, PIFA, in Mumbai and has tie-up with European club academies feels that it is a great move but needs a lot of hard work other than “just giving the money”. “It requires a lot of effort and every minute detail has to be paid attention to.” Shah, though, feels that Indian football seems to be headed in the right direction.



AIFF president Priyaranjan Dasmunsi, at the press conference, said that the involvement of someone like Bharti would just be the kickstart for the development of the game. And he rightly said, “It is a small ray of light in our house.” Whether that ray lights up the house or not remains to be seen, for now, Indian football can look forward to a better and hopefully a brighter future.

BCCI to lodge complaint against umpiring

Incensed by the horrendous umpiring decisions in the second cricket Test against Australia, the Cricket Board today decided to lodge an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC).



The Indian team management had initially decided not to lodge a formal protest after the umpiring blunders on the opening day but the BCCI President Sharad Pawar has now directed its officials to go ahead with an official complaint.



"BCCI President Sharad Pawar has directed officials to lodge a official complain against the umpiring in the Sydney Test. The letter to the ICC will be sent today," BCCI vice president Rajiv Shukla told PTI.



"The quality of umpiring has been so horrible that it is unacceptable. We do not consider it to be neutral," Shukla said.



The two umpires - Steve Bucknor of West Indies and Mark Benson of England - have given a number of atrocious decisions, most of which have gone against the Indians.



"It is quite evident on television that the umpiring has been poor. Even Sunil Gavaskar who is a member of the ICC's technical committee has expressed his outrage," Shukla said.



"Keeping all this in mind, the BCCI has decided to go ahead and file a complaint," he added.

Bharti to pump in over Rs100cr for football

Bharti Enterprises today joined hands with All India Football Federation (AIFF) to help the country attain global standard in the sport.



The company has signed an MoU with AIFF under the terms of which, it will pump in Rs 100 crore towards a comprehensive National Football Development Programme and for globalisation of Indian football with a target to take India to the World Cup.



As a first step, the telecom company will start a world class football academy named 'Bharti-AIFF Academy' which will be set up either in Haryana or Goa.



Bharti chief Sunil Mittal said he wanted a "football revolution" in the country and was ready to invest "any amount of money" necessary for providing a world class academy.



"Bharti has signed an MoU with the AIFF with an aim to make this country a football nation and next ten years must be a target for India to be at the world cup. This project has the capacity to transform the nation and all the investment would be made by Bharti Foundation," Mittal said today.



"We have become too obsessed with cricket and the time has now come for us to develop football in the country. Nothing is more pulsating than the 90-minute entertainment on a football field," he said.



"I am starting with a few hundred crore, but I assure you I am ready to invest any amount of money for whatever it takes for the academy and a few other initiatives.



"The academy will train young talent in the 8 to 18 year age group and I hope it will turn into a supply line for the national team down the years," he said.



Mittal said it was a philanthropic initiative by the company and there was no commercial angle to it. However, he later said the investment will give Bharti commercial mileage when the game succeeds.



Calling the Bharti initiative as the beginning of an era, AIFF president Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said Bharti's involvement in football would not be confined to building the academy alone though he said a kick start is necessary to take care of the business viability aspect.



"AIFF and Bharti will work together for the development of Indian football. There is a small ray of light in our house," Dasmunsi said.



Work on the academy will start by March 31.



"They (Bharti) want it to come up in Goa. They are talking to Haryana government also. A final decision will be taken soon," AIFF general secretary Alberto Colaco, who was also present, said.



Mittal said the academy, which will initially take around 100 youngsters in four age group categories of 8-11, 11-13, 13-15 and 15-18, will have all modern club style facilities including multiple grounds, basic training, coaching and medical facilities.



It will also have on-site educational facilities and hostels so that the selected youngsters can study regular subjects while developing their football skills.



The youngsters will be selected under a massive talent hunt programme throughout the country to find out budding talent via scientific means.
